One of the most powerful assets in our ability to change our health, mind, and vitality can be found in something that we do every day
A smile
A smile not only looks good on anyone, but has many benefits that many people are not aware of that can help lead to a more fulfilling and positive lifestyle. Here are 5 major reasons to smile wide and often.
1. Smiling makes you more attractive
A good smile is something that men and women like to see in their partners. It communicates all the right messages about you and shows the opposite sex that you are certain in who you are as a person, a very sexy quality to anyone. If you don’t smile people will tend to not even give you a second look at the bar, as there are typically other people who seem to be having all the fun and smiling like a small child in a candy store. Get your smile on and watch the opposite sex be drawn to you.
2. Smiling changes your state of mind
Smiling changes your physiology or the positioning and state of your body. It has been scientifically proven that changing your physiology at any given moment can help to shift your state of mind radically, from depressed to happy and from angry to calm. By smiling in any given situation you are changing your physiology and effectively telling your brain to feel good, and even if you are grinning like a maniac for no reason in the most arbitrary of situations, you will find that your mental state will shift to something positive. Next time you aren’t feeling so grand, crack a smile and watch your state shift.
3. Smiling is contagious
Just like yawning, smiling is contagious to other people. Haven’t you been in a situation where everyone is calm in a room and someone comes in and tells a joke with big smile on their face and instantly everyone in the room has a big grin on their face (even if the joke was not so great). It because smiling is a contagious physical state that can transfer onto others through unconscious social mirroring. People tend to act like the other people they are around, so you can effectively start the “feel good” revolution whenever you want and start smiling at your next business meeting and watch your stubborn boss crack a smile as everyone else in the world is feeling good.
4. Smiling is healthy
Smiling is not only beneficial for your state of mind, but has many positive aspects for your health. It has been proven that smiling can reduce stress as it helps prevent you from looking and feeling tired and overwhelmed. Every time you smile your immune functions increase as a direct result of your relaxed state of mind, which leads to a measurable reduction in your blood pressure. When you smile, you also release endorphins, pain killers, and varying levels of serotonin that help make you healthier and feel better.
5. Smiling makes you look younger
Every time you smile, your face muscles lift and make a person appear younger. A British study conducted found that men rated smiling women younger than frowning ones, even if those who frowned were actually younger. People associate smiling with feelings such as joy, youth, and vitality so when you smile you give an appearance of a younger more vibrant self. Not to mention to frowning actually leads to the appearance of more wrinkles.
So get out there and smile, you could effectively be sexier, feel better, spread joy, be healthier, and even look younger just for showing your teeth a little bit more.
I liked this post man!
Yeah a pretty 5 points list.
@Canello
Thanks Man!
@Remco~
Appreciate the support 🙂
And my 5 reasons why smiling does not work, unless you got the groundwork right.
1. It’s female energy.
Ever seen a women smile? Isn’t it just beautiful? Love is the ultimate polarity of a women. Rigidness/Toughness is that of a man.
A man that smiles expresses feminine energy. Look at pictures from parties. The guys often look tough, the girl smiles, laughs.
If they both would smile, they would be buddies. There is no polarity. There is no tension. They are both basking in female energy.
He will probably be mistaken for being gay.
2. It projects indecisiveness.
You smile… a lot. Do you even know what you are smiling about?
Can a women trust a man that smiles about anything? Does that mean he takes things serious or does he make everything laughable to the point of stupidity?
3. Smiling makes you look childish.
Yes. It makes you look younger. Sometimes this is a very bad thing. When you are 17 w/o facial hair for example.
4. It projects fear.
Why do you laugh all the time? Are you scared something will happen if you express another emotion?
Why not express a whole range of emotions, instead of just…smiling?
5. It shows reactiveness.
Do you smile before or after somebody says something? Doesn’t it becomes try-hard?
Smiling does not solve a thing unless you got your confidence in check. I smile, I make jokes. People think I’m a weakling. Hooray!
Girls stop trusting you to “make the move”. They like you for being a weakling. Smiling without Intent makes you a weakling.
So: smiling only helps if you have masculine/sexual energy raging through your veins. If you have no masculine energy: Get a purpose first, then smile.
Interesting points man. As a rule of thumb I believe smiling can do you more good than harm, but in limited circumstances it can possibly be perceived in a negative light. I defiantly agree that more men should have a strong masculine energy. Being 100% Mr Nice guy does not help you get the woman of your dreams 🙂
I like this post.
It’s nice to just give a random girl eye contact, smile and see the reaction just for fun.
@Mhm
So true, I find that you can spread happiness to anyone around you! Young, old, women, and men, everyone appreciates a smile and it can drastically impact your day and the day of someone else in a positive light
YES. This is probably the easiest thing for most guys to fix in field if they’re just starting out.
Remember: WHATEVER YOU FEEL, SHE FEELS.
Therefore, if you roll up with the “I see dead people” look on your face, it’s going to put her in that state as well and…. POOF! GAHHHN…. buh bye…
Also, as the old Tony Robbins quote goes, “Motion creates emotion.” Your physiology can dictate how you feel. So, just by putting that smile on your face, you’re going a step in the right direction towards accessing that “nimbus” state where you’re just flowing completely naturally and charismatically, and having a great night.
That is “bringing value.”
Love your site, and the article. I work with your ma and she is very proud of you:) Look at that I just smiled through the web:)
@Jlaix

Awesome post man.
This is something I need to start doing imediately! I think a big factor in the past has been that my teeth havent been up to par lol… just recently I used the crest advanced white strips and those things work awesome. Now since I get a jump start im my whitness, I starting using that arm and hammer whiteing gel that you put on your regular toothpaste… I can tell that stuff is working too… So yea… I need to start smiling… I think right now, i dont do it at all unless it is for a reason… you should always just smile anyways to get those good emtional flowing through your body
@Mike
Rock on, smiling = winning at life. Every time your smile you can feel as if your life becomes that much easier, and you’d be surprised how much better it makes your life overall, in nearly every area.
I agree with everyone who has positive comments on this page, I really do! I always smile as much as I can everywhere. But please be considerate and understand those who do not have teeth, or those who do not have the ability to smile, including cleft lip folks and those who have had injuries or were born with deformities. Remember, just because someone does not smile does not mean they don’t mean well. There are more people in this world who are affected by these problems than you may think. So don’t assume that someone isn’t nice just because they don’t smile.
@Chris Connelly
Spot on. Thanks for your comments Chris
